Danger in temper control

Posted Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at 4:38 PM

Of course I talk about racing and the outdoors, and I will, but something happened recently that reminds me of how important it is to have permission to HUNT or FISH on private property. I don't know what it was all about, but if it had anything to do with land and access, a young man and a husband and dad are all one person who is DEAD. Never to serve his family again, to hold his son, to kiss his wife, hug anyone in his family. How important is that? To that family it's everything....................... Some things are not worth it for a fish or a deer or squirrel. Think people on both sides of a dispute. Is it worth a LIFE??????????

Sometimes racing gets like that and a 3500# car becomes a weapon. Racing is a high emotion and adrenalin packed sport. There is no place for temper or rage. There are too many people there to take those kinds of chances with there lives. It may not be the person that you're mad at that becomes the victim, it may be an innocent bystander. No matter what you're doing out there in the outdoors, make safety issue ONE! I have been there and seen it as a crazed man fired 16 rounds at 2 of my sons. Fortunately I was able to control my temper and let the law handle the justice. But it was hard and he did go to jail. My sons learned a valuable lesson. If it ever comes up in your life think about what I've said, you could miss out on being a grandpa.
