Joe Higginbottom

Joe Higginbottom, age 80, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2022 in Festus Missouri. He was born November 21, 1941 to Woodrow and Etrula (Queen) Higginbottom in Memphis Tennessee.
Survivors include his wife Sharon of 57 years: two sons Kevin and wife Teresita, Mark and one daughter Robie Carter and husband John; six grandchildren Marcus, Shelton, Caleb, Garrett, Alesha, Bradley and wife Courtney; five great grandchildren Mattie, Stetson, Clara, Carter and Elijah; two brothers Bill and wife Peggy, Jim and wife Trina and one brother-in-law Don Williams and Cathy as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joe started iron working in 1962. He was selfemployed as a welder for several years, designed a water line trailer that was used in the oil field, and had many custom jobs. He returned to iron working where he retired some years later. His sons and one grandson followed in his footsteps and joined the iron workers union.
He enjoyed reading, music, working on boats, cars and anything with a motor in it. Later in life he started making knives and his family and friends all wanted one or several if they could get them.
Most of all, Joe will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the willingness to help anybody that needed it.
