LAVERN CLARK

Lavern Clark was born in Myrtle, Mo. on March 11, 1936, to Willie and Ora (Harbison) Wisehart and departed this life on Feb. 6, 2023. She was married to Boyd Clark on Dec. 12, 1954. Lavern and Boyd had four children Mike Clark, Kim Bridges, Jason Clark and Eric Clark.

Lavern was an active member of the Thayer Free Will Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian serving as a Sunday school teacher to many of the church youth. She was actively involved in the Women’s Auxiliary and the church choir.

She was an avid reader and highly respected for her sewing abilities. Many people in the church and community were blessed by her beautiful voice and love of singing.

Lavern was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was loved and respected by many and will be missed by all.

She is survived by her four children Mike, Kim, husband Brock, Jason, and Eric, wife Mandy; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband Boyd; six sisters Bernice Cantrell, Eunice Wisehart, Marie Sutton, Eulah Payne, Lucy Hyman and Mary Ruth Wisehart; three brothers in-law Virgil Cantrell, Bob Payne and Irvin Hyman and one daughter inlaw Barbara Clark.

Funeral services for Lavern Clark, age 86, of Thayer, Mo., were held on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo. Visitation was on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 5-7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Mo.

Interment was on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, in Byrd Cemetery, Myrtle, Mo. with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Mo.
