BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT

Jobe and Kayla Hurst of Mammoth Spring, Ark., are the parents of a baby boy, Wyatt Kayce Lee Hurst. He was born March 17, 2023, at 6:17 a.m. at Ozarks Healthcare. He weighed 6 pounds 1 ounce and was 19 and 1/2 inches long. His siblings are Abel, 9, Elizabeth, 7, and Klayton, 6. His grandparents are Fredrick Zimmerman of Seymour, Mo., Samantha Sartin of Mountain Grove, Mo., Frank Hurst, and Malinda Stewart, both of Mammoth Spring.

Alton High School Beta Club Members participate in state competition

National Beta members from Alton High School are celebrating their recent participation in the Missouri Senior Beta State Convention on March 3 and 4 in Branson, Mo. They were announced as winners of the following competitions: Ethan Conners, third place in freshman agriscience; Chaney Janes, first place in freshman language arts; and a group of students, fourth place in campaign skit. The campaign skit group included the following Beta members: Abby Campbell, Hudson Hollis, Rylan Steele, Landon Huckabee, Cory Miller, Jayden Mock, Dillon Weyland, Jaiden Sisco, Alayna Warren, Alee Willard, Jaylee Reese, and Xavier Carson. Also, our Beta officers competed at a leadership conference in Cape Girardeau in September and qualified for national convention in the Lead Outside the Box competition by constructing a web page for information on how to survive a natural disaster that could be reached by scanning a QR code.

Ozarks Small Business Incubator receives Community Revitalization Grant

The Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI) is pleased to announce that they are the recipients of a Community Revitalization Grant, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The grant, administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED), is focused on investing in communities of all sizes to support local priorities, encourage economic recovery, and build resilience for the future.

OzSBI announces the return of EPIC 2023 with a brand new theme

The Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI) will host its eighth annual National Small Business Week celebration on May 11. In the past, EPIC has featured roundtables and keynote addresses by successful area business owners, but this year, EPIC will take a turn toward the skies with EPIC: An Ozarks Eclipse Experience. Current and aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners and community leaders will come together at the Incubator to be informed and inspired about the upcoming total solar eclipse that the Ozarks will experience in April next year. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this event.
