George D. Hay Society of West Plains to hold 16th Hall of Honor Inductions and Awards

The George D. Hay Society of West Plains will hold their 16th Hall of Honor Inductions and Awards celebrations on Aug. 20 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Star Theatre in Willow Springs, Mo. Inductees are George Mason from Harrison, Ark., Dave and Darlene Gourley from Houstion, Mo. and Gordon McCann from Springfield, Mo.

Ozarks Healthcare Behavioral Health Center to host third annual Youth Mental Health Workshop

The Ozarks Healthcare Behavioral Health Center (BHC) will host its third annual Youth Mental Health Workshop on Friday, Aug. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Genesis Church located at 4549 Hwy. 160 in West Plains. This free workshop is designed for those in professional, academic, and/or private settings who work with youth on a regular basis and will provide education on the latest developments in understanding the intricate world of children’s mental health.

OzSBI selected as a spoke in a nationwide program to serve disadvantaged small businesses with government resources

The Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI) has been chosen as a “spoke” in the Community Navigator Pilot Program, an American Rescue Plan initiative designed to reduce barriers that all small businesses, including those owned by disadvantaged groups such as veterans, women, and those from rural communities and communities of color, often face in accessing critical support. The Community Navigator Pilot Program provides $100 million in funding to 51 organizations that will work with hundreds of local groups (spokes) to connect America’s entrepreneurs to government resources so they can recover and thrive.
