Commission approves FY 2023-2027 STIP at July meeting

$10 billion in federal, state revenues available for statewide improvements The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has approved the FY 2023-2027 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which lists transportation projects planned by state and regional planning agencies July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2027. The STIP makes available $10 billion of federal and state revenues for all modes of transportation over the next five years, making it the state’s largest program.

The Kingsmen Quartet concert to be held

The Kingsmen Quartet will be in concert July 24, beginning at 6 pm at the Music in the Mountains Theater. This is located in the Mall in the center of Horseshoe Bend, Ark. There is no admission charge but a love offering will be received. This will be one of the great groups that we will have this year at Music in the Mountains Theater. The theater is air conditioned and there are refreshments are available beginning at 5 p.m. You will enjoy this great Southern Gospel Quartet.

Danielle and Ashley Ferguson of West Plains, Mo., are parents of a baby girl, Sequoia Melony - Marie Ferguson. She was born June 18, 2022, at 12:23 p.m. at Ozarks Healthcare. She weighed 6 pounds 2 ounces and was 18 ¾ inches long. Her grandparents are Ginger Gatewood of Alton, Mo., and Rick Ferguson of Beech Grove, Ind.

New Kentucky Colonels to hold annual 65 celebration

Eric Lewis, of West Plains, Mo., has been in the music business for 65 years from 1957 to 2022. He and members of his band, New Kentucky Colonels, have been in singing, song writing, entertaining and recording for many years. Eric started at age 15 and furthered and developed his music career. He and his group have toured across the country at all type of events. They have won numerous awards, with some number one songs on the charts. They will be holding their 65 annual celebration on July 23 at the Star Theatre in Willow Springs, Mo. beginning at 7 p.m.

38th annual Antique & Classic Car Show to be held

The 38th annual Antique & Classic Car Show sponsored by Mammoth Spring Chamber of Commerce will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mammoth Spring State Park ball field. Judging will be at 11 a.m. The show will feature muscle car, rat rods, antiques, classics, show trucks and modern class. More than 50 trophies will be awarded. The event will feature music, food, cruise in and T-shirts will be available.
