MSU-WP gave Josh Cotter opportunity to explore his options

When Josh Cotter graduated from West Plains High School in 2000, he, like many of his peers, chose to stay close to home and attend Missouri State University- West Plains (MSU-WP). Not only could he save money by using funds from the state’s A+ Program to pay for his tuition, he could still hang out with his friends while completing his associate’s degree and acclimating to college life.

Rescue dogs – making a difference in the lives of veterans and inmate rehabilitation programs

Rebecca Turcott, a Registered Nurse (RN) Canine and Veteran Trainer as assisted by Susie, Service Dog In Training, and Maximus, her personal canine that assists in training other dogs for K9s FOR CAMO, attended the January 2023 Ozark Spring, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution monthly meeting.

Lady Zizzer Basketball Pink Out Fundraiser to be held in February

West Plains Bank and Trust Company sponsoring T-shirts to benefit Cancer Treatment Center The West Plains High School Lady Zizzer Basketball Team will host their 10th Annual Zizzer Pink Out night on Monday, Feb. 6, at West Plains High School. Games will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the Freshmen, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams in action against Waynesville. West Plains Bank and Trust Company is the sponsor for the event and all proceeds raised will benefit Ozarks Healthcare (OHC) Cancer Treatment Center.

New ‘bank-ready’ resource at Ozarks Small Business Incubator

In 2023, the Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI) will house a new resource for getting rural individuals and entrepreneurs ready for the bank, and ready to grow their household and business success. The Give Yourself Credit program will increase the financial capacity of rural south central Missouri residents and businesses. It is operated by nonprofit New Growth Capital and made possible through support from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

NARFE meeting to be held

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Chapter 695 of West Plains will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 12 noon at Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant, 1449 Preacher Roe Blvd. The speaker will be Josh Reeves, Ozarks Heathcare Vice President of Development and Advocacy. His topic will be an “Update on Current Projects at Ozarks Heathcare”.
