Governor cost-share program to create economic development

Missouri Depar tment of Tra nsportation $75 million appropriated to build local partnerships, deliver roads and bridges The Missouri General Assembly in the last legislative session appropriated $75 million to the departments of transportation and economic development for the Governor’s Transportation Cost-Share Program, aiming to build partnerships with local entities to deliver road and bridge projects. 38th annual Antique and Classic Car Show to be held

The 38th annual Antique and Classic Car Show presented by Mammoth Spring Chamber of Commerce will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Mammoth Spring State Park ball field from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Judging will be at 11 a.m. More than 50 trophies will be awarded. There will be an array of vehicles to view including muscle cars, rat rods, antiques, classics, show trucks and modern class.

Labor Day event to be held in Thomasville

A Labor Day event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3 hosted by the 11-Point Valley Community Center in Thomasville. Activities will begin at 6 p.m. with a duck race, food vendors, quilt show, bake show with ice cream, silent pie auction, bounce house and a corn hole tournament. The Dawson Hollow Band will perform at 7 p.m. Bring the family and lawn chairs. Admission is free.

The Back to School Scholarships are valued at up to $2,500 each and will be available for those pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in any of the university's 60-plus degree programs in information technology, business, K-12 teacher education and health professions, including nursing. Students can apply for the scholarship online at www.wgu.edu/B2S through Dec. 31, 2022.
