VFW Auxiliary #7831 in Mammoth Spring honored long time officers at their July meeting. Dorothy Parks (seated) was recognized for her service as President of the Auxiliary for the past 24 years. Master Sergeant (R) Michael Long, Arkansas Veterans Advisor for Senator Boozman’s Office, will be the speaker at the FNBC Community Bankers Veterans Day on July 20 at the Fulton County Fair in Salem. FNBC will provide lunch for all veterans and their spouse or care giver. Salem VFW Post 9777 will have the opening and closing ceremonies
The hospital simulation lab project at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU- WP) received additional funding from the state last Thursday, June 30, when Missouri Gov. Mike Parson signed legislation that included $1.25 million in MoExcels funds for the project.
Missouri State University-West Plains will offer a Summer Scholars Academy July 25-28 for area students in sixth through eighth grades. The academy will have a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) emphasis and meet from 8 a.m.
July marks the opening of two new quilt exhibits at the Missouri Quilt Museum in Hamilton. The National Quilt Museum’s Patricia Campbell Collection is now on display in the National Gallery at the Missouri Quilt Museum.

Birthday Blessings is a nonprofit that spreads cheer and meets needs for the more than 20,000 kids in the Missouri foster community. With more than 50 new toys delivered for children of all ages, Birthday Blessings will continue to help fulfill the goal of making sure every child they serve feels like the only child they serve.
