NARFE meeting to be held

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Chapter 695 of West Plains will meet on Tuesday, June 28 at 12 noon at the Ranch House Bar & Grill, 1321 Preacher Roe Blvd. Lynn Johnson will present the program, “Be Prepared for Life’s Events”.

Joiner earns degree from CMU

More than 500 Central Methodist University earned degrees this spring, with graduates from the Fayette and statewide campuses, as well as online, walked across the commencement stage in May. Graduates were recognized for academic honors at the ceremony and were treated to a commencement address by former Missouri judge and lawmaker Ted House.

Steven Privette earns National Certification through Missouri Court Management Institute

Steven Privett, Presiding Judge of the 37th Judicial Circuit, is one of 55 graduates of the Missouri Court Management Institute recognized in a ceremony held May 20 at the Supreme Court of Missouri in Jefferson City. Judge Privette’s completion of the institute qualifies him for designation as a “certified court manager” by the National Center for State Courts, based in Williamsburg, Va.

Alton Senior Center receives capacity building grant from Ozarks Food Harvest

Alton Senior Center recently received a capacity building grant thanks to Ozarks Food Harvest’s $1 million investment in agency infrastructure in southwest Missouri. The grant funding will purchase miscellaneous dining ware, which will help increase food capacity and sustain food distribution and feed families in Oregon County.

Arrest warrant issued for Fulton County man charged with aggravated assault on a woman

An arrest warrant has been issued for Fulton County man, Deonte Scott, 31, for allegedly attacking a woman on the river. On May 27, Fulton County Deputies Blair Ables and Phil Story were dispatched to 9 Mile Ridge Road in response to a 911 call of a witness who heard a woman’s cry while unloading his groceries.
