‘In observance of Brain Awareness Month in June, Ozarks Healthcare will offer a free community education dinner on Tuesday, June 28. Dr. Clara Applegate, neurologist at Ozarks Healthcare Neurology, will speak about identifying stroke, stroke prevention tips, the critical importance of seeking stroke treatment, and stroke recovery. The dinner is free, but reservations are required.

Ozarks Healthcare’s Behavioral Health Center (BHC) is currently accepting registrations for a therapeutic youth summer camp. Trained therapists and staff from Ozarks Healthcare’s BHC will be onsite for the duration of the camp to share communication skills, coping mechanisms, self-esteem tips, and more education regarding mental health with participating youth. The camp will also include traditional summer camp aspects, such as arts-and-crafts sessions, games, and field trips.

Ozarks Healthcare Therapies will be offering a safe, encouraging environment for kids to improve muscle strength, coordination, concentration and body awareness through a special yoga class. The class will be for ages 12 and under of all abilities and will be held Tuesday, June 21, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Willard Hunter Classroom in Parkway Center. The class is free to attend.
