The fourth annual GM Curtis Futch Memorial Karate Tournament will be held Saturday, May 21, at the A. L. Hutson Center in Highland. Delargy’s Mighty Warriors Karate for Christ, of Saddle, is hosting the competition where karate students and masters of all ages will compete.
At approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, the Oregon County Sheriff’s Office was notified of someone being injured by gunfire at the Stateline Restaurant south of Thayer.

Construction has began on the Greer Mill trail by the Forest Service with help from the Watershed Conservation Corp. It is asked to not hike on the trail until it is completed. A fish fry will be held at BB Road VFD and Community Center on Saturday, May 21 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. The meal will incude fish, salads, sides, dessert and beverages. Cost will be $10 for adults, $6 for children and preschoolers eat free. Take outs will be available.

Benefit Trail Ride Poker Run and Lunch hosted by the VFW Auxiliary Post 8042 in Evening Shade will be held on Friday, May 27. Campout for the weekend on private land beside the Strawberry River.
