The Signature of Approval

The Legislature has been out of session for more than a month, but the work of representing the 33rd Senatorial District continues. Much of my activity during the intersession period involves meeting with local officials and civic and community groups, but I also spend a lot of time talking directly to residents of the district and hearing your concerns.

Fighting for Missourians’ Second Amendment Rights

It has become an unfortunate theme in Washington - every time a crisis or tragedy hits this nation, Washington Democrats spring into action to exploit that situation to grow the power of government. In response to the current economic crisis of their own making, Democrats choose higher taxes; in response to the energy crisis, they choose new, less reliable energy sources over affordable energy coupled with new limits and regulations on oil and gas; in response to a border crisis, they choose open borders and government incentives for illegal immigration. Every solution they propose will only inflame the crises we face, but every solution also has one thing in common: they are liberal wish list items that have existed for decades.

Saw at the Border

Over the last 16 months, we have seen a steady deterioration in our border security as President Joe Biden’s disastrous policies have not only weakened our ability to stop illegal immigration but actually poured fuel on an already raging fire by encouraging millions of illegal immigrants to cross our border.

Treasurer Fitzpatrick calls for passage of Federal Savings Bond Legislation

In a letter to Senators Roy Blunt and Josh Hawley, Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick urged the United States Senate to pass the Unclaimed Savings Bond Act of 2021. The legislation would empower states to act on behalf of the Treasury Department to find owners of matured, unredeemed U.S. savings bonds and facilitate the payment of their claims. Nearly $30 billion in savings bonds have reached final maturity, of which approximately $438 million belongs to Missourians.

The Formula for a Crisis

Across America parents of newborns are scrambling because infant formula has to be rationed – if it’s available at all.
