Awards and accolades will abound at the annual Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Sports Banquet, set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, in the exhibit hall of the West Plains Civic Center, 110 St. Louis St.
Aiden Gair, a sophomore sharpshooter for the Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Basketball team, received honorable mention All-American recognition from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
The Missouri State University- West Plains (MSUWP) Grizzly eSports program will send four rosters to the NJCAAE spring playoffs. Two rosters will compete in the Invitational playoffs, and two will compete in the Open.

Libero Sthefany Maximo will play for the University at Albany in New York, setter Karya Suvarioglu will play for Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, and outside hitter Ilana Assis will play for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg.

Season’s donations of 235,169 pounds of venison are feeding Missourians around the state. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the Conservation Federation of Missouri (CFM) thank the thousands of Missouri deer hunters who donated 235,169 pounds of venison to the state’s Share the Harvest program this past deer season, including 4,936 whole deer.
