Thirty-seven area softball enthusiasts participated in the recent Grizzly Softball Skills Camp hosted by the coaching staff of Missouri State University-West Plains’ (MSU-WP) Grizzly Softball team. They were assisted by volunteers Kate Tyree, assistant coach of the West Plains High School Zizzer softball team, and Karsyn Smith, a member of the Drury University Panther softball team. Campers learned fundamental skills of the game and participated in other activities, games and scrimmages. Community First Banking Company sponsored the camp. Organizers said they look forward to hosting additional camps in the future.
Area youngsters who will be in second through 12th grades during the 2022-23 academic year can develop their volleyball skills during the Grizzly Volleyball Summer Camps. The camps will be offered in July at the West Plains Civic Center.
