Edwardine “Eddie” Jean Hersma, 83, of Viola, Ark., passed away from this life on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Mountain Home, Ark. Eddie was born Aug. 6, 1939, in East Chicago, Ind. to Joseph Piecuch and Mary (Wolanin) Piecuch.

Eddie married John Hersma on Oct. 16, 1964, in Hammond, Ind. Eddie worked as a florist for many years. Eddie enjoyed her flowers and working with flowers, watching birds, old westerns, and crocheting. Eddie especially loved her grandchildren, cooking out with the family, and watching Jacob play baseball. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend and was a member of the Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Salem, Ark.

Eddie leaves to mourn her passing, daughter, Jenni Luther (Lynn) of Viola, Ark.; grandson, Jacob Luther (Heather) of Bergman, Ark.; four great grandchildren, Benson, BraeLynn, Brynn-Lee, and Brooks; two honorary grandchildren, Mattix and Harper Rowden; sister, Alice Lovell (Lew) of Morehead, Ky.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister (Dorothy Starzak).

Memorial services were at 1 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Ark. with Bro. John Hodges officiating.
