Gerald Dean Koelling, 64, of Byhalia, Miss. passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, in Southaven, Miss. Gerald was born April 12, 1958, in Mammoth Spring, Ark. to Preston Eugene Koelling and Maudie Agnes (Walker) Koelling.

Gerald was united in marriage to Bonnie Lane Edwards on June 26, 1976, in Fulton County, Ark. Gerald spent his working years as a truck driver and as manager of MFA Oil Company. Gerald loved his daughters, who were his world, and his family. Gerald also enjoyed hunting and drag racing. Gerald was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Byhalia, Miss. Gerald was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.

Gerald leaves to mourn his passing; wife, Bonnie Lane Koelling of Byhalia, Miss.; three daughters, Kristan Lena Carmady of Byhalia, Miss., Shana Lee Landa (Drew) of Hernando, Miss., and Ashley Dawn Surbaugh (Matt) of Olive Branch, Miss.; five grandchildren, Alyssa, Grace, and Drew Landa of Hernando, Miss. and Kelby and Jacob Surbaugh of Olive Branch, Miss.; one great grandchild, Emily Landa of Hernando, Miss.; brother, Dale Koelling of Salem, Ark.; sister, Nora Kutsenda of Hammond, Ind.; Joie York who was like a brother and Shaun Ellison who was like a son; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers (Charles Robinson, Lonnie Koelling, Eugene Koelling, Willie Koelling and Art Koelling), and six sisters (Marie Ramsey, Carrie Hale, Georgia Mae Driver, Ellen Phillips, Rosie and Violet).

Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Ark. with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Visitation was 6-8 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Ark. Interment will be in the Sturgeon Cemetery in Mammoth Spring, Ark. Pallbearers were Shaun Ellison, Joie York, Rich Ramsey, Butch Ellison, David Allan Fletcher, Kenny Ellison, Jr. Ellison and Alyssa Landa.
