Tom Emerick, a 6-foot, 5-inch forward from Mansfield High School, has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for the Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzlies beginning this fall. Emerick helped lead the Lions to a 26-2 overall record this past season while averaging 22 points, seven rebounds and three assists per game. He was named Summit Conference Class 3 District 10 Co-Conference Player of the Year and was an all-state selection in Class 3 by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA).“We are excited to have Tom in our program,”Grizzly Basketball Head Coach Jared Phay said.“He is very athletic, and we think he will be able to contribute right away.” On hand for the signing were, from left, Emerick’s dad, Terry Emerick; MSU-WP Assistant Coach Walt Belcher; Emerick; and Emerick’s mother, Trish Emerick.
