August 30, 1959 – May 8, 2023

William J Collins, 63, known to everyone as “Butch” passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Sunset Health Care Center in Union, Missouri.

Butch was born August 30, 1959 in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas to Owen and Nadine Collins, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his sons BJ (Becky) Collins of Petersburg, Illinois, and Dusty (Angel) Collins of Hillsboro, Missouri; his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Elizabeth, Summer, Jonathan, and Skyler; sister Denise (Mike) Johnson of Jackson, Missouri; nieces Andrea (Nate) Adams and Kristy (Brian) Land.

Butch graduated from Thayer High School in 1977 and enlisted in the Army where he proudly served as an Administrative Specialist.

Once his active service was complete, he worked as a driver for Overnite Transportation and Fred Weber, Inc. While he drove for a living, the part about work he loved the most was the co-workers that were like family. He loved the potlucks and chats with everyone.

Outside of work Butch loved late model racing, Storytelling, spending time on the water, was an instant friend to all that he met and had a mustache rivaled only by Sam Elliott. More than anything above, he loved spoiling and spending time with his grandkids.

At his request, no services will be held – Instead he asked and reminded us to spend time with each other and go camping every once in a while.
